Environmental outrage over three swimming pools being built per day in Mallorca
Complaints over the construction of 10,680 swimming pools over nine years, 30 per cent in rural areas. "The swimming pool ‘boom’ “is linked to holiday rentals, secondly to building on rural land, and also to property speculation, because having a swimming pool increases the value of the property and makes it more attractive for holiday rentals”
