Calls to double the tourist tax in Palma
Aim is to raise around 20 million euro for housing. Més’s proposal regarding the tourist tax would mean that, with Palma’s 56,000 hotel beds, an average surcharge of 2 euros per person per night and an annual occupancy rate of 50 per cent, the City Council could raise 20.4 million euros a year
